the alchemy of words

In a post modern world where nothing is owned we

cut and paste images and words.  But what is

beyond the bite or slice, beyond the cutting edge,

what reaches back into the past and stretches out

into the future?  Where is the deep pool where

words rise like bubbles from the unconscious mind

waking from dream to find a meaning in those

senseless images?

A master builder did not construct the pyramids.  A

hundred monkeys did not write Shakespeare or

make gold out of the base metal of verbs and

adjectives.  Keep diving for the pearl that can

never be dismantled, divided or deconstructed.  The

mot juste surfaces to hang lightly from neck or

earlobe, a gift from the heart, a treasure.
